So why did it take so long for this to finally be told? Ovarian cancer is nothing to be lax about!
It thoroughly disgusts me when the mighty dollar comes before a human life. Just a few days ago all this came back into light.
Medical evidence suggests that women should not use talcum powder as an intimate hygiene powder because of its link to ovarian cancer. Any woman diagnosed with ovarian cancer is urged to consider the possible link to talcum powder. I would NEVER consider sprinkling the stuff on baby!
Dr Daniel Cramer is a gynecologist and epidemiologist, and a Harvard researcher and professor, believes that as many as “ten percent of all ovarian cancer cases in the US are related to the use of talcum powder.”
A study done in 2009 was led by Dr. Margaret Gates from the Harvard Medical School in Boston. It found that women who used talcum powder around their genital area had a 40 percent higher risk of getting ovarian cancer.
This is why I love to simply share alternative products with others.
You can sprinkle and smile if you make your own baby powder using arrowroot powder. Be careful what comes in contact with your baby's delicate skin and your body by using an organic option.
Here is what you will need:
- 1/2 cup arrowroot powder
- 2 tablespoons of baking soda
- 1 tsp chamomile or calendula flowers (optional)
- Mix in blender or processor- add a few drops of lavender oil (optional)
OR
you can just use "All Natural Cornstarch." Cornstarch helps with diaper rash and aids in keeping baby bottom dry.
