In this past week, I’ve shared (on Instagram) what things are looking like around the house. I’ve had some questions and comments about these spaces, so I thought I’d share them here.
It’s been pretty warm in Nor Cal lately, so a favorite spot to be right now is the cool basement. It’s always about 20 degrees cooler down here! I’ve added a few pink touches, along with my black and white and gray staples. One question I was asked was, “Is it ok to mix metals?” I say YES, YES, YES! In this case, I’ve mixed copper and silver. I love the variation of metals. The trunk I’ve used as a coffee table is a vintage find that I painted silver. Atop that, I’ve added a chunky, vintage inspired metal tray from HomeGoods. In the tray, you’ll also see a pretty copper jewelry box. There’s no jewelry in it, I’m just using it for a fun display piece, and it’s also from HomeGoods. The wall color in the room is Silver Chain by Benjamin Moore.
Here’s my favorite little window seating area. The ‘seats’ are actually Ikea bookshelves, and I’ve topped them with lots of pillows from HomeGoods. We can sit here and pull up this little table from HomeGoods to have a quick snack or a cup of coffee.
Here’s a current view of my living and dining rooms. Things are leaning more towards a coastal vibe lately! A look I always enjoy in the summer months. The lamps, console table, throw, baskets and mantel accessories are all found at HomeGoods.
We also snuck away to the beach for a little sunset picnic this past week! Why not style your picnic adorably as well, right? This blanket and bamboo tray were found at HomeGoods. The hat and purse are from Nordstrom, and the wine is from the Sonoma Valley Winery Benziger.
